What is a true original?
Since 2015, we've been showcasing the True Originals at TRW whose dedication to excellence makes TRW parts the best on the market.
Now we want to shout about the True Originals in the aftermarket who share our dedication. Workshop owners and installers who take a real pride in what they do, who have clear ideas about what best practice is and have their own original ideas and solutions that make their garages stand out from the crowd.
That's why we created the TRW Original Workshops hub - to share and celebrate the stories of the aftermarket True Originals who use TRW aftermarket parts.
To discover how a modern workshop owner achieves business success, we met with Matthias Jendrossek, owner Jendrossek Autoteile GmbH, Germany, and asked him how he takes care of his team and his customers to make a great workshop.
"There’s always a new challenge. You have to keep looking for the next opportunity. That’s the way to keep driving forward." |

A small family business
From its beginnings as a small family business, Jendrossek Autoteile GmbH has expanded to offer a full range of repair, equipment and tire equipment for all kinds of motor vehicles. It employs almost 40 people in a workshop space that covers approximately 10,000 square meters, and is now one of the largest independent automotive workshops in northern Germany. Both its customers and its employees say Jendrossek Autoteile GmbH is one of the best workshops in the business. So how does a family workshop business achieve and maintain business success? A significant reason for the workshop’s success is the attitude of its owner, Matthias Jendrossek. Matthias enjoys off-roading and firmly believes that to work well you need to be able to relax and recharge, too. It’s a forward-thinking attitude that has served him well, and he wants to help his team to adopt the same attitude; that’s why he has installed a boxing ring and a games area for the team to use.
“Away from my workshop,” says Matthias, “off-roading gives my life balance. And boxing helps balance my team. I’ve learnt that my team is the heart of my business. Building a boxing ring and a games area in a workshop might be unusual,” says Matthias, “but if our employees are happy so are our customers.”
The company was founded in 1985 as a one-man business and Matthias intends to keep it going long into the future, so he’s firmly looking towards tomorrow. For example, he’s planning to expand into the servicing of fleets, and of e-vehicles to ensure that Jendrossek Autoteile GmbH meets customers’ needs in the future.
“If you have a well-trained team,” says Matthias, “who know the latest technologies, you have happy customers – and business success.”
By enhancing his workshop with features such as a boxing ring to keep his team fit and happy, and in-house training on e-vehicle technology, Matthias has kept his business strong and fit for the future.
